I consider that during the last few years and through
projects I have been involved in developing, I have acquired
knowledge that I never thought I would have. My first
experience in the world of videogames and programming was
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
, an arcade game created with the
SDL library
and
Visual Studio
software. From that moment on, I improved my programming
skills as I worked on more projects during my studies.
The project I was most impressed to have completed was a 3D
game engine I developed along one of my colleagues, called
Mist Engine
. It was a really tough challenge to develop because it had
a new level of difficulty in terms of programming, but it
was really worth the hours invested for the result we got.
In all my previous jobs, I've never been deeply involved in any
area other than programming or design. So for my final degree project,
I decided to experiment with the area of 3D art and research what is
involved in the creation of a 3D environment in the video game industry.
Therefore, I decided to create a 3D scenario in real-time using modular
assets and build the level in Unreal Engine. I am very proud of the final
outcome, and I have gained a wealth of knowledge throughout the journey.
